Quick Wins
If you have ever worked with me or taken my class, you’ve heard me push for quick wins.
I ask this question.
What can we do right now, without a bunch of resources or planning, that gives a shot at a potential quick win?
No matter how big the challenge, I push for a quick win.
Why is that?
Because I believe firmly in the power of momentum. And that once momentum is on your side, not only are you moving towards accomplishing a bigger goal but you’re also doing so with the wind in your back.
Let’s face it. Starting a career and finding that first awesome job is a hugely fucking scary undertaking. It’s not something that will happen overnight and there are many obstacles you’re going to have to overcome to eventually maybe (don’t worry, you will) cross the proverbial finish line.
And guess what? The biggest obstacle is starting. Starting anything.
Reality check. If most of us would recognize how much work goes into accomplishing anything remotely remarkable, we’d never start.
But guess what, once you start and you pick some momentum. You generate some energy. Some confidence. Courage.
I call those quick wins.
Now some people (definitely not most) might just be able to write up a big old plan and then execute it day-by-day and task-by-task. I am not some people and my guess is that your aren’t either.
