ambulance
I've only been the key actor in the back of an ambulance once, and hopefully, I won't find myself in that situation for a long time.
It appeared to be a life-or-death situation, but fortunately, it wasn't.
I'll never forget being carried out of my house on a stretcher, wondering if I'll ever get to see my wife, my daughter, or my parents again.
A small part of me changed forever that night, definitely for the better.
It's easy to forget those moments and just go back to business as usual. I am good at that.
But I got lucky that night. I'm lucky to have needed an ambulance.
Because now, every time I see an ambulance, I think back to that moment and that night.
And then I go home and kiss my kid, wife, and cat, but usually not the dog.
Her breath is just terrible.
Carpe Diem.
